                  Effects of Probiotics on Growth Performance and Health Status of Piglets

               Abstract:This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of probiotics on the growth performance and

               health status of piglets. One hundred and eighty“Duroc×Landrace×Large White”hybrid weaned piglets (ADG
               7.52 ± 2 kg, age 28 ±2 d) were allotted to a completely randomized block with 6 groups, 3 replicates per group
               and 10 pigs per replicate. The control group was fed the basal diet, Experiment 1~5 group as the probiotics
               group. Based on the basal diet, 0.1% probiotic products supplemented in the other groups. Experiment period is
               32 days. The results showed as follows: 1) Group 3, 4, 5 showed higher ADG than the control group with
               13.89%、11.11%和 16.67% above, respectively. In the daily feed intake, group 3, 4, and 5 had significant differ-
               ence with the control ( P<0.05), group 4 and 5 decrease the ADFI by 5.91% and 8.06% when compared with
               the control, respectively. Experiment 1, 2, 3 groups showed no significant difference with the control; 2) Inci-
               dence rate, compared with the control group, the group 1,2 and 5 were lower than the control by 37.40%,
               34.89% and 37.40%, respectively. In the rate of diarrhea, compared with the control, the group 1,2 and 5 were
               lower than the control group by 37.11%, 33.63% and 51.68%, respectively. In conclusion, probiotic preparations
               can obviously improve the daily gain of weaned piglets, reduce feed conversion ratio and diarrhea incidence of
               piglets. As follows, effectively ameliorate the decreased performance and health caused by the early weanling.
